Discover how to create a beautiful, sustainable landscape that benefits the environment at the Tennessee Smart Yards Festival! Hosted by the Master Gardeners of Davidson County, this family-friendly event will showcase practical ways to make your yard healthier and more eco-friendly.

Come explore interactive demonstrations and educational exhibits on the nine foundational principles of a Tennessee Smart Yard. Learn how to:
✅ Compost effectively and enrich your soil
✅ Incorporate native plants to support pollinators
✅ Manage rainwater with rain barrels and rain gardens
✅ Conserve water while maintaining a thriving landscape
✅ Build wildlife-friendly features like bat boxes
✅ Improve soil health and reduce runoff

By taking stewardship actions in your yard, you can earn inches toward becoming a certified Tennessee Smart Yard—a recognition awarded to homeowners who commit to environmentally responsible landscaping. Since 2020, more than 680 yards have been certified through UT Extension’s program!

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just getting started, this event is a great opportunity to connect with experts, ask questions, and take home actionable tips for your own landscape.

Mark your calendar and join us for a day of learning, inspiration, and fun!
